I am so excited to get back in the swing of things again!   Learning about motherhood these past several weeks has been so humbling and so rewarding at the same time.  While it’s been time well spent loving on our sweet boy, I’m so stoked to get back to doing what I love.   Facials are my passion for so many reasons, and I can’t wait to get back in my esthetician stool.  I want to share what I love about giving a facial in this post, so you can understand why I chose this profession.

Bringing Happiness

The first thing I love about giving a facial is the opportunity to make my client feel happy.  There is so much in life that demands of our time and energy, and we often forget to take care of ourselves.  Seeing a client take a deep relaxing breath and settle into their facial is the best feeling for an esthetician!  The facial massage is one of the most relaxing experiences ever, because there are so many nerves in the face, neck, and scalp.  I can visibly see the person lying on the table relax and slip into their happy place.

Real Results

The next best thing about performing a skincare treatment is seeing actual, bonafide improvement in my client’s skin.  Not only should the experience bring relaxation, but it should also yield results.  Whether someone is coming to soften lines and wrinkles, lift sagging skin, clear up acne, or brighten dark spots, it’s so awesome to see them excited to see real change in their skin.  Creating significant change in your skin takes commitment and consistency, and it’s the only method that will help someone maintain their results.

The other fun part of my job is the chance to educate my clients about how to best take care of their skin.  There is so much marketing out there that bombards the average consumer  with information that may or may not be accurate.  TV ads make Dove look like the best thing since sliced bread.  They don’t talk about how drying it actually is to the skin.  It’s so important to become educated about how your skin works, and what ingredients and treatments will actually benefit your skin.  I feel like the more I can teach my clients about how to take care of their skin, the more likely they are to maintain those healthy habits.

Not everyone has the privilege of doing a job that they genuinely love, and I feel so blessed to be in those shoes.  Thank you to all my amazingly loyal clients that continue to be a part of the Sweet Life experience.  I am looking forward to seeing all your beautiful faces again!
